Explosions have been reported in Doha following a barrage of missile strikes launched by Iran on U.S. military bases in Qatar, according to Iranian state television. The attack comes shortly after Qatar closed its airspace amid concerns over a potential Iranian response to recent strikes on its nuclear facilities.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has claimed responsibility, stating that its armed forces "struck and destroyed the U.S. air base at Al-Udeid" , a key installation that houses the U.S. Central Command.
Qatar has issued a strong condemnation, calling the attack a violation of its sovereignty and international law. The Qatari foreign minister affirmed that the country reserves the right to respond proportionally under international law.
In response to the situation, the Indian Embassy in Qatar has issued a cautionary advisory, urging Indian nationals to stay indoors and follow guidance from local authorities.
This marks a significant escalation in an already volatile regional crisis.
